UPCOMING SHOWS from Jam Theatre Company (June – August 08)

Descant Housewives CD Launch Concert
12th June 08

If you haven’t heard these ladies perform, you’ve missed something special! The Descant Housewives are essentially a ladies choir, trained by Jam Theatre, but with so much spark, life and fun thrown in! They have won every choir competition they’ve entered and audiences are always stunned at the quality they produce. This is their first album, and we’d love you to share this CD launch concert with them, and help us raise as much money as possible for Breast Cancer Research & Helen House Charities.

Sing! Sing! Sing!
28th June 08

14 brave men and women have completed the Singing Level 1 Course, and are now ready to perform for the public (whether they like it or not!). These singing shows have become infamous, and you’ll be cheering along with the rest of the audience, proud of what these students have achieved. A fantastic nights entertainment, accompanied by some of London’s top  musicians.

Dream Street
11th – 13th July 08

Jam Theatre’s Saturday Theatre school, “JammEd” perform the world premiere of Jo Noel-Hartley’s new musical Dream Street.

Hugo, Lily, Sam & Jemima all live in the same street but live very different lives. They meet when they attend an audition to star in the next big show to hit the West End - and their lives are never the same again!

The Unloved Pickle
27th – 30th August 08

Ozzie Gardner stars in this lovely children’s show. Based on the concept, you can’t judge a book by its cover, 9 year old Luke discovers that maybe those disgusting pickles that have been sitting forever in the cupboard aren’t so yucky after all, when he strikes up a friendship with a pickle!

Aimed at 3-8 year olds, the whole family will enjoy this heart-warming story of friendship against the odds!

JammEd – Jam Theatre's Saturday Theatre School – 1 Year Old!

Jam Theatre Company's Saturday Theatre School, for 11- 16 years olds started in September 2007. Now only in its 4th term it has already over 70 students, with no advertising, just word-of-mouth.

'It is fantastic that we have over 70 students and continuing to grow, without the huge costs of advertising and marketing or franchise fees. We employ excellent professionals from the theatre industry to teach the kids and keep our termly fees around £100 cheaper per term than most other local theatre schools. The quality of what they learn and therefore produce in the areas of singing, dancing, acting and technical theatre is unbelieveably high. I am so proud of them.' – Jo Noel-Hartley (Jam Theatre Co. – Artistic Director)

JammEd is supported by a unique relationship between Jam and Sir William Borlase's Grammar School.

Congratulations and a BIG Thank You to all the Marlow Schools

Sandygate • Little Marlow

Bisham • Burford • Danesfield

In September eight Marlow Infant and Junior Schools joined an exciting new project run by Jam Theatre Company and supported by Sir William Borlase's Grammar School. They had only two months to record an album of music and prepare for the launch event at the Wycombe Swan on Thursday 8th November 2007.

Each school had the opportunity to perform their songs from the CD with the evening hosted by CBBC's Simon Grant. The evening finished with over 300 children joining Marlow Youth Choir on stage for one last song 'Sing Together!', especially written for the Marlow Schools CD project by Jam Theatre's Artistic Director Jo Noel-Hartley.

Marlow Schools CD - 'Sing Together!'

ON SALE NOW FROM ALL YOUR LOCAL MARLOW SCHOOLS!

The evening at the Wycombe Swan was a huge success with all the children behaving and singing brilliantly, they are a credit to their school and their parents. However the 300 who were lucky enough to perform at the launch event are only half of the actual children involved in the recording of the CD, that you can now buy from any of the eight schools involved.

The CD only costs £10, with at least 60% going back to the schools in Marlow to help support and develop Performing Arts and Music resources.

They make ideal Christmas presents - whether your child is on it or not!
