WHO IS JAM THEATRE?

Jam Theatre Company was formed in 2005 by Jo Noel-Hartley and Mark Hartley. Both had worked in the music and theatre industry professionally and had now come to amalgamate their knowledge and experience to form Jam Theatre. (their CV’s available at www.jamtheatre.co.uk)

Jam is currently ‘in residence’ at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Jam has a passion to produce commercial theatre that entertains and challenges new audiences.

Jam recognises the importance in encouraging a ‘film going’ younger audience back into the theatre, to experience live performance art at its very best.

Besides their immense experience in music, TV and touring theatre shows around the UK, Jam Theatre is heavily involved with the Creative & Media Diploma and Edexel BTEC courses, and Mark was chosen by the worlds leading educational publishers Pearsons, to write performing arts, music & media student handbooks for 14-19 yrs, and Jam Theatre has recently been featured on DVD for Pearsons Publishers.

Jam is also a regional training centre for Apple UK specialising in music & theatre technology.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Jam produces professional plays & shows, and provides training to both professionals and keen enthusiasts!

We work in the local and wider community to encourage the performing arts in local schools, and offer regular industry training in acting, dance, singing and technical theatre for those aged 11 – 111!

WHY IS OUR TRAINING DIFFERENT?

To start with, we are not a franchise. As a professional company we are regularly conducting castings and building shows from scratch, so we really know the business day in and day out.

As a team of professional performers and educators, we are passionate about our job and believe firmly that the performing arts can be such a boost in self esteem, co-ordination, self discipline and confidence – as well as nurturing those who desire a future in it.

Our training encourages all students to be natural performers, giving them skills that will transfer into everyday life.

Our teachers are all currently working in the industry: choreographers & performers in West End Shows, UK theatre show directors, performance coaches for TV, session singers, voice coaches for well known Pop bands & West End stars….

…..All available to YOU through JAM THEATRE at SWBGS.
